No matter what anyone says, there are people who love getting gifts, and people who love giving gifts. Sometimes you can be both. I love giving gifts. It’s not as selfless as it sounds either, because it makes me feel good to make someone else happy or smile with a gift I got them.
This all kind of reminds me of that episode of Friends. The one where Phoebe is trying to find a selfless act of kindness/good deed and she ends up getting stung by a bee because she thinks then the bee got something good but she got stung which didn’t make her feel good. Then I’m pretty sure someone points out that after the bee stung her it probably died….so it was all back to the beginning again.
Bee or no bee (damn, I could’ve made a really bad Shakespeare joke there…but I refrained. You’re welcome), doing something kind for someone else does make you feel good. If there’s one thing that I do know, it’s that the world we are currently live in could do with more kindness and goodness.
So, here are some random acts of kindness that you can do every day:
I always remember reading an article where when his book came out, Bryan Cranston wrote little notes in copies, paid for them at an airport and left the receipt in them. That way, when someone came along to buy his book it was already paid for and they had a handwritten note from him, which is so damn cool.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The older I get, the more I relate to that weird chick from Mean Girls who says she just wants to bake a cake filled with rainbows and everyone would eat and be happy. Just sayin’
Be kind. Be…the Bryan Cranston in your life.
